Multiple companies and institutions have utilized the Electronics Design Center at Case School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University for prototype production. Projects from National Institutes of Health, Department of Energy, National Science Foundation, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and others have all utilized EDC facilities to further their research.

 

One such project is ClotChip®, a portable, point-of-care device, capable of providing both quantitative and qualitative diagnostic evaluation of a patient’s entire hemostatic process. Prototyping for this CWRU developed technology was carried out at the Electronics Design Center.

The EDC facilities were also used in the manufacture of prototypes of a novel biosimple bioabsorbable / biodegradable electrode fabricated by modifying standard absorbable sutures.
