BEES2 Student Event Recap
On January 19th, 2024, Case Western Reserve University hosted the BEES2 SRO event, aiming to foster collaboration and plan future research endeavors. The day featured research presentations, including a lecture on flow batteries by Dr. Robert Savinell, alongside a tour of the Cleveland Museum of Art and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion workshop led by Eliandreina Cruz Barrios. Participants engaged in interdisciplinary dialogue through research presentations and cultural activities, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and inclusivity in academic settings. The DEI workshop provided a platform for meaningful discussions on diversity and inclusion, enhancing participants' understanding of these crucial principles.
Despite challenging winter weather, 22 students and postdocs from six universities attended, though the event had to be condensed into a single day due to the conditions. Desiree Mae Prado and Rathiesh Pandian, both Ph.D. candidates at Case Western Reserve University, both played pivotal roles in organizing the event. Through collaborative efforts and thoughtful planning, the event provided a platform for scholarly exchange, camaraderie, and learning, leaving a lasting impact on all who participated.
