Double your opportunities with our combined bachelor’s and master’s degree program, which you can finish in just five years.

The integrated BS/MS program is intended for highly motivated and qualified undergraduate students who wish to pursue an advanced degree. Students admitted to the program may, in their senior year, take up to nine credits of graduate courses that will count toward both BS and MS requirements. Please note, courses are only double-counted when taken after admission to the program.

Students should check with their faculty adviser or department chair about the availability of financial assistance (tuition waivers and/or stipend) for participation in this program.

Selected students are supported by research assistantships and competitive fellowships from the State of Ohio and from alumni donations to help them achieve their educational and research goals.

Qualifications for the BS/MS Program

Interested students should apply to the BS/MS program after the completion of 75 semester hours of coursework and prior to attaining senior status (completion of 90 semester hours). Normally, this means that students will submit applications in the sixth semester of the BS program (usually the spring term of the junior year).

A student admitted to the program may, in the senior year, take up to nine credit-hours of graduate courses (400-level and above) that will count towards both BS and MS requirements. The courses to be double-counted must be specified at the time of application. Courses taken prior to admission to the program cannot count towards the MS unless they are in excess of BS degree requirements and permission to use them towards the MS has been granted by the dean of graduate studies and the dean of undergraduate studies.

Please check with the BS/MS adviser for your department to learn the specific due date for your application. Learn more about the university's integrated BS/MS program.

The Case School of Engineering sets the minimum grade point average for admission to the BS/MS program at 3.0. Individual departments may set a higher minimum GPA.
